Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is on the verge of finally securing the signing of
a striker after agreeing a deal to sign Monaco forward Anthony Martial.
The French international is closing in on a move to Old Trafford after being granted
permission by France manager Didier Deschamps to leave the squad in order to undergo a medical.
The addition of a striker has been a major concern for United, with captain Wayne
Rooney desperately struggling to find his form in the Premier League . Despite scoring a hat-
trick in the Champions League last week, United have limited options in attack and the
pace of Martial will certainly add another dimension.
According to the Express , the deal could be worth as much as £50million with add ons,
leaving Monaco with a huge profit having landed the youngster for just £3.6million from Lyon.
The 19-year-old has 11 goals in 49 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, with the paper also reporting that Arsenal and
Tottenham have shown a previous interest.
